Women in Design (WiD) and Latin GSD, in collaboration with the Department of Landscape Architecture, present “Landscape Architecture in Latin America: Unpacking Theory, Practice, and Agency.” This symposium will provide an opportunity to debate the current and future state of landscape architecture in Latin America. This symposium brings together professionals from several countries to discuss the complex social, political, and environmental realities engaged in their work. From the creation of ecological corridors in Bogota to urbanization in the Galapagos Islands, these designers interpret landscape through a range of lenses that include urbanism, architecture...
Guardianship/conservatorship law is designed to "guard" incompetent people, "conserve" their assets, and "protect" the taxpaying public from the ward becoming a public charge. Over the years, the law has been misused, misapplied, or even manipulated to unjustly enrich court-appointed fiduciaries at the expense of and to the detriment of the very people they are court-appointed to protect. Venture to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, to explore the city that’s shaped like a bird in flight. Boasting innovative architecture, imaginative artwork, and symmetrical designs, Brasilia is the ultimate eye candy. Modern time wonder Brasilia in Brazil. Brasilia is Brazil’s capital city and was constructed in the nineteen fifties in futuristic style, a veritable playground for both planners and architects and also a considerable challenge for both builders and civil engineers. The general idea had been to transform what could have been fifty years of building work into just five, but they actually achieved it in just four! Brasilia was recognised as a symbol of outstanding design and in 1987 it was designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Congresso Nacional is the city’s most famous building complex, Oscar Niemeyer’s personal masterpiece, with a dome and bowl linked by two towers and corridors with photo galleries and countless government offices that form a mighty centre of administrative...

http://www.expedia.com/Brasilia.d693.Destination-Travel-Guides Brazil’s innovative capital, Brasília, was designed from scratch on a plateau in the heart of the country. From above the city center looks like a bird in flight with the spacious Praça dos Três Poderes and the Modernist-style Planalto Palace at its heart, The Monumental Axis forms the body and it’s flanked by an impressive collection of cutting-edge architecture.
